Clean energy supremacy

By the 2040s, the plunging costs of solar, wind, and energy storage will make renewables plus storage the cheapest source of electricity nearly everywhere on planet Earth. Increasingly cheap hydrogen produced from these renewables will decarbonize heavy industry and other sectors. Combined, and complemented with firm, dispatchable zero-carbon power sources such as geothermal and fusion, they’ll be capable of providing the bulk of human energy needs, at a lower price than humanity pays today.
